Surgical Services
|
Surgery is often a first step in cancer therapy. Seton has experienced surgeons who provide care for a diverse range of cancer diagnoses. For prostate and gynecologic tumors, for example, surgeons may choose Seton’s da Vinci robotic technology to perform minimally invasive procedures that enhance healing time and reduce the impact on surrounding tissue. Stereotatic technology with computer navigation and CUSA ultrasonic tissue ablation is also available for neurological procedures.

When detected later, cancer is much more likely to be fatal. Each year, more than half a million Americans die from cancer. Since 1975, cancer deaths have fallen just 8 percent, as compared with deaths from heart disease, which have dropped nearly 60 percent in that same period.
