(Daly City, CA) -- By a unanimous decision by the Seton Medical Center Search Committee, the Seton Medical Center Board of Directors and the Daughters of Charity Health System (DCHS) Board of Directors, Lorraine P. Auerbach, FACHE, has been named the permanent President and CEO of Seton Medical Center and Seton Coastside. She has been serving as the Interim President and CEO for the past six months. Seton Medical Center and Seton Coastside are members of DCHS, a six-hospital health system spanning the California coast.
“Lorraine has demonstrated success through significant improvements she’s made at Seton Medical Center/Seton Coastside since her arrival in June of this year,” said DCHS President and CEO Robert Issai. “She has focused on developing and implementing a strategy to raise the bar on performance and quality while maintaining focus on our Mission and Values.”
Through committed leadership, Auerbach has reduced the length of stay, implemented new programs such as Robotic surgery, and has been instrumental in strengthening operational performance, building physician partnerships and enhancing communications. “She is changing the culture to one of transparency and trust, and has begun to strengthen and reposition Seton’s critical programs and services,” continued Issai.
“I am excited about the opportunity to help lead Seton Medical Center/Seton Coastside as we move toward realizing its full potential as a leading tertiary care institution,” said Auerbach.
Auerbach’s credentials include more than 25 years of hospital and healthcare executive experience, having worked extensively as a hospital CEO. Prior to joining DCHS, she served as President of Century City Doctors Hospital, an acute care hospital with a UCLA affiliation. Auerbach was responsible for creating, implementing and operating this fully functional new hospital.
Auerbach served as Chairman of the CEO Committee 2007-2008 of the American College of Healthcare Executives. She is board certified in healthcare administration and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
